Review: Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

revlon just bitten 1

Remember my last wishlist? It included a Clinique Chubby Stick in colour Pudge Peony. Well, i've decided to still get it at some point, but i wanted to try Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains too (plus, they're inexpensive!) I tried looking for one that looked like it, i don't really know if they even look alike because i haven't tried Clinique Chubby Sticks, but i loved it! The colour i picked is Lovesick/PassionnĂ©e. It's a very bright fuchsia/pink with glitter flecks in it. It has a very soft and easy application and i can asure you, it lasts all day long! This colour in particular is very hard to get off the lips, but is indeed lovely.

This balm stains have a minty scent to it, which i didn't liked at first. I would have preferred a sweeter scent. The formula is very moisturizing and glides easily onto the lips. The boldness and glossiness of the colour will fade after eating or drinking, but the lips will always remain stained. Overall, i'm quite please about this balm stains, they have great pigmentation and a lovely range of colours.

Review: Nars Blush in Luster

nars luster 1

How do you do everyone? I hope you're good! Today is all about a new blusher i got in the mail 2 days ago. I was really excited because applying blush is my favourite part of applying my makeup. This time i wanted to do a complete review, including pictures of the packaging and everything. As a graphic designer, i really appreciate and take my time to examine the packaging, the material... NARS has one of the most amazing logos out there. It has a simplicity that makes it very appealing, plus the unique typography!

Moving on to the blusher itself, I really enjoy the soft texture of the compact, though after a while it gets dirty and greyish from use. NARS makes really good blushers, they all have great staying power, pigmentation, silky texture and unique colours. This one in particular, is called Luster and it's a sheer golden apricot. It has great application and it's quite buildable. Also, I find that it can be used as an all over face bronzer, which is great. It has a golden finish but it's not over the top, so it leaves a very natural look and a healthy glow to my face.

I like wearing every type of shade on my cheeks, but my favourite shade is peach/apricot. So i'm really loving my new blush!

Wants:

wishlist2

Happy tuesday lovelies! Here is my mid-july beauty related wishlist! Let me know what are your thoughts on this products and if you recommend them or not!

1. Signorina by Salvatore Ferragamo: This perfume is described as elegant jasmine and the unexpected, delicate sweetness of pannacotta are blended together to create a refined and memorable fragrance. I just know it smells delicious and i want it really badly!
2. MUFE 12 Flash Color Palette: This particular item has been in my wishlist for far too long but i just think it's too expensive. Have you tried it?
3. Clinique Chubby Stick in Pudge Peony: I have heard that these are great! Moisturizing and very pigmented at the same time. I really like how Pudge Peony looks.
4. MUFE HD Powder: Another item that has been waiting for too long on my wishlist! I've seen many reviews about it and i'm still skeptical. Some say it actually reduces the appearance of larger pores and others say it doesn't. What do you think?
5. Butter London Nail Laquer in Lovely Jubbly: All i can say is that i've been falling in love more and more everyday with glittery polishes!

What's in my makeup bag?

whats in my makeup bag1

Hello lovelies! I hope you all had a fun weekend! Today i'm doing my very first What's in my makeup bag post. I usually keep products in my makeup bag for a week or too, and then switch to other ones. In case you wonder, I got this bag at Zara, it's actually labeled as a hang bag, but i like it as a makeup bag. Plus it's too small for a handbag, don't you think?

whats in my makeup bag

I don't carry around with me a lot of makeup, i do my makeup at home and only take out the essentials. My favourite thing is blusher, i don't like to leave without it, i think it brightens up my face and i don't really re apply it as much. But you know, just in case!
Other essentials are hand cream, a hair brush (which i got in a plane- Iberia) that I love cause it can also be used as a hair clip. Then there is lip care and solid perfume.

whats in 1

1. I'm really liking the Beauty Addicts Show Off Mascara i received in June's Glossybox, so i just carry it around in case i need it!
2. If i need more coverage or go back to my matte look i have Benefit's Hello Flawless Custom Powder Cover up SPF15 in Toffee (discontinued)
3. I always have a concealer in my bag in case my liner smudges or mascara smears.
4. As i mentioned before, blush is one my favourite things and i never leave home without it! This is MAC Cremeblend Blush in Posey

whats in 2

5. The brush i got on Iberia's flight.
6. I got this Jergens fragance free moisturizer at Target. I like this cream because it's not sticky and doesn't leave any residues. It's very moisturizing and i use it for my hands. I've always had problems with hand creams because of it's buttery and sticky texture, but not anymore! Thanks to this one.

7. When my lips get dry i use Burt's Bee's Beeswax Lip balm which comes in a small tin. It kinda smells like mint and my lips feel fresh when i apply it.
8. I wear perfume everyday and apply it at home, but sometimes it fades away. So i carry this L'occitane Solid Perfume. It smells delicious! It's called Delice des Fleurs Rose & Violette.
9. I like retractable brushes because otherwise my makeup bag gets all dirty from powder and blush residues in it. I use this YSL retractable brush i got as a gift when i bought a perfume. I don't think they sell this brush, but you can find more brushes here.
10. And of course, i always carry my lipstick. I change lipstick every single day! It's either lipstick or lipgloss. The one pictured here is Revlon's Lip Butter in Pink Truffle. You can see a review on these here.

So i have 10 items in my makeup bag. Not bad huh? What do you have in your makeup bag? Do you use any of this items?

Review: June 2012 Glossybox USA

glossybox

Hello lovelies! I finally received my first Glossybox that i had been anxiously waiting and I felt it took forever! I ordered it on June 14 and got it 3 days ago. Anyway, i think maybe that's how they work? I don't know, please let me know.

glossybox1

Of course i had already seen pictures around and knew what i was going to get in my box. I love the packaging, i think it's very adorable and the box is actually a keeper, i will probably use it to store something! It's a hard cardboard box.

glossybox3
glossybox4

It comes with a little card that describes the products you're getting and the price of the full size product. Also, June's box came with a "special surprise treat", a perfume sample.

glossybox2

These are the deluxe samples i received:

glossybox products

1. Beauty Addicts Show Off Mascara: I was actually impressed by this mascara. I am a mascara junkie and i'm always looking for the perfect brush & formula. I was thrilled when i got this out of the box. It has a curved brush and the formula has Argan Oil in it, which conditions and protects the lashes. I loved it! It came as a full sized product, it retails for $20. That's almost the price of the whole box! ($21)
2. First Aid Beauty Smooth Shave Cream: This shave cream is moisturizing and smooth in texture, though i'm not a big fan of the smell. This product is $7.50 for 2 oz. and $16.50 for the full size. I haven't used it yet, but since i have sensitive skin this probably will do wonders for me!
3. Kinerase Restructure Firming Cream: This is a firming cream for face and neck to be used morning and night everyday. I never really used anything by Kinerase, but i like how my skin felt after applying this cream, it has a very silky texture, it's paraben free, contains non comedogenic ingredients and it's made for all skin types. Loved it!
4. Shea Terra Organics Ultimate Moisturizing Body Cream: I absolutely love organic products, so all i can say about this body creme is that i love the smell, and how it feels on my skin! 99.7% natural.
5.Wella Professional Enrich Moisturizing Treatment: I love hair treatments, but i didn't really know how to use this one. So i put a bit on my fingers in towel-dried hair. I love the smell, but i'm not sure if it's improving my hair.
6. Perfume Organic - Urban Organic: This is an extra treat on June's Glossybox. It's called Urban Organic and it smells great! It has a citric scent with notes of lavander and grapefruit. The sample came half empty, i can tell it's very concentrated but i'm not sure if that's how far up it should be. I love the original packaging though.

I know it's a bit late for a June Glossybox review, but what do you think about this products? Anything you will be getting full sized?

Getting Ready: Smoky Eye

judy1

Hey loves! It's getting ready time! Well, not really. This is the look I wore on friday. A classic smoky eye. It is very important though, to know that what grounds a smoky eye is lashes, otherwise it can look like a black eye. And believe me, if you try this you'll know why. For those girls who never wear more than a sheer eyeshadow and liner, there will be a wow factor when wearing a smoky eye. I feel like it's very simple once you practiced enough and manage to do it really quick!

eye1

I applied a shadow lighter than flesh tone onto entire lid, from brow to lashline. Then i applied the medium colour from my lashline to the crease and smudged a little black eyeshadow with with fingers. Then blended both colours together.
To get this look you'll need 3 colours of eyeshadow (light, medium and dark), pencil eye liner, a smudge brush, a rounded crease brush, a medium brush, a pointed slant brush, mascara or fake lashes.
I do believe that brushes are important for makeup application, and without a proper brush, the results aren't the same.

Do you wear the smoky eye look often? What other looks do you normally wear?

Please let me know if you would like to see a step by step tutorial of this look or any other!

Swatch: O.P.I. Dating a Royal

dating a royal

Hey lovelies! I hope you all had a fun weekend! I wanted to swatch one of my favourite O.P.I's nail polish, Dating a Royal. It's a royal blue as it's name suggests, but depending on the light it looks like a navy blue. O.P.I differs from other nail polish brands for it's formula. This polish in particular, only needs two coats and you're ready to go! And it also dries quite quickly. This colour is just lovely, Dating a Royal is a very classic polish and it's not too bright which makes it very wearable. But still, it's very interesting.

Getting ready: Natural

me2

Hey beauties! Today I decided to start making "Getting Ready" posts to show you what products i'm wearing and my daily looks. Most of the days i wear natural looks, but sometimes i add a bit of colour either to my lips or my eyes, i don't like both at the same time. Today i'm wearing black eyeliner, glowy cheeks and a hint of colour in my lips. Even though it looks like i've done nothing on my face, foundation and concealer really do make a big difference.

me1
what i used

As always i start with facial moisturizing cream and primer (not pictured here). Then i apply concealer. Right now i'm using the Mac Select Cover Up in NW25. After concealing i apply my foundation Chanel Lift Lumiere in 05 Faience with foundation brush or my fingers. Today i didn't applied blush, i just applied the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Nectar which i LOVE! It gives my cheeks a healthy glow and brightens up my complexion. After that i apply the Laura Mercier Mineral Pressed Powder in Natural Beige to set my whole makeup.

For my eyes i used the Chanel Eyeshadow Quad in 74 Nymphéa (Limited edition/Discontinued) and the Mac Fluidline in Black Track, for my lashes the Maybelline One by One Mascara in Blackest Black, for my brows the Mac Eyeshadow in Brown Down and the Mac Brow Set in Clear. Finally for my lips i applied the Revlon Lipbutter in Pink Truffle.

What do you think about this look? Do you like natural looks? What is your everyday natural look routine?

Review: Revlon Nail Art FrenchMix

revlon nail art 1

Hello lovelies! I recently got these nail polishes from Revlon. They come in a tube with 2 different colours. I just thought it was pretty convenient and you can mix & match. Though they're called FrenchMix to make french like nails, i rather play around with the colours.

revlon nail art
revlon nail art 2

Kiss & Tell has an orange with a bronze finish and a light shimmery yellow. None of this colours are matte. The formula isn't as thick but it isn't runny either. It dries really quick, 1-3 minutes top.
Moonstruck has a glittery lilac and a shimmery violet. I like the lighter colour on it's own, over a base it looks too sheer.
Sneek Peek has a baby blue and the consistency is too watery. The other colour is a bronze terracota and i discovered that the glittery formula has a better texture. For this colours you will be needing at least 2-3 coats to get a nice bold colour.
Sweet Revenge has a bright matte pink and a shimmery purple.

Review: Lush R&B

r&b

Hello lovelies! How is July going so far? Is your hair doing alright with the weather? Mine has been great thanks to this product! It's Lush R&B. A best seller, and i bet all of you ladies have tried it before! Anyway, i wanted to do a review about it. I have been using this product since April, but not every day, i like to alternate different products in my hair. The texture of R&B is mayonnaise-like, and the smell of it is what i like the most! Some of the ingredients are oat milk, avocado butter, olive oil, extra virgin coconut oil, jojoba oil, jasmine and orange flower. I don't really know how to describe it, but it smells amazing. Agree?

r&b1

I use it after i take a shower on towel dried hair, i don't use too much tough. The first time i rubbed a whole lot and it left my hair feeling a bit oily. So be careful not to apply too much, a small quantity is more than enough!
My hair tends to be a little frizzy, so this turned out amazing for me! Also it conditions my sometimes-dry hair.

What do you girls think about R&B? Do you have any other recommendations?

Get the most: Mineralize Products

mineralize

Hello beauties! I feel like i haven't written a post in forever! Anyway, I was looking through my makeup collection and i found these two Mac Mineralize Eyeshadows that i got when the Semi Precious Collection came out last summer. Well, i never really use them, they're new!

both1

I think some of the Mineralize Eyeshadows don't exactly have a great staying power, some are a little flaky and i just don't use them very often. However, it occurred to me that i should give them another try and use them as blushers. These two shades are somewhat in the same colour range as the blushers, i think.

both

Quartz Fusion is a raspberry pink with chunky glitter. Faux Gold it's a melange of soft undertones with a coppery brown on top and has a very smooth application. I applied the Eyeshadows over my foundation with a Mac 129 blush brush, then i blended it out. I applied it heavily to show the colours, but it can be applied with less intensity.
I'm quite happy i had this idea cause this way my eyeshadows won't go to waste or be forgotten in my drawer forever! I'm not sure if the blush formulas have a big difference with the eyeshadows but i'm guessing there must be, but since these are mineralize products i don't think there will be a skin related problem.

What do you think about using products for different purposes? Have you tried this before?
