Swatch: Mac Pro Longwear Lipcreme

mac lipcremes 1

Hello lovely readers! I swatched two of my favourites Mac Pro Longwear Lipcreme's to share them with you. The colours are Goes and Goes & Love Forever! Both of these colours are semimatte with a cream finish.

Goes and Goes is blue violet with a lightweight texture. This lipsticks don't need a top coat and they last up to 12 hours. What i like most about this colour is that it has a white shimmery finish, which makes it unique.
Love Forever! is a bright blue pink with a creamy finish. I find it similar to Dear Diary, except Love Forever! is a little darker.

How To: Glossy Eyelids

tutorial

Hey lovelies! Today i'm going to show you how to achieve glossy eyelids, also known as the wet eyeshadow look. Glossy eyelids have been around for quite a while, and have been seen in fashion runways and magazines. I had never tried it before, but since i got my Mac Gloss Crème Brillance when the Chenman Collection came out, i've been experimenting. I think the wet eyelid it's a very versatile look because depending on the colours, it can be a very natural or a very bold look.

I did my glossy eyelids on 5 simple steps:

STEP 1: Start with clean eyelids. The less makeup you have on, the better results you will get.
STEP 2: Apply an eye makeup primer or concealer all over your eyelids as a base to hold the eyeshadow.
STEP 3: Choose the colour of eyeshadow you want and apply it with a medium brush all over your eyelid starting from the outer corner of your eye.
STEP 4: Once the colour is well blended, apply a small amount of cosmetic gloss with your finger starting at the inner eye, making sure you're covering the whole area where you applied the eyeshadow.
STEP 5: To finish the glossy eyelid look, apply black mascara.

Multipurpose gloss is the most effective way to achieve this look. However, if you don't have multipurpose gloss, you may use non-sticky lipgloss, vaseline or petroleum jelly.

This is how it looks like in both eyes:

Apply black eyeliner for a more dramatic look:

This look is very wearable, it can be used by day without any eyeshadow for a dewy skin finish look or by night, on top of a very bold eyeshadow colour. i personally love it! I think it's very sexy!

The products that i used for this tutorial were:

1. Maybelline One by One Mascara in Blackest Black
2. Sephora Pro Natural All Over Shadow Brush #12
3. Sephora Pro Concealer Brush # 45
4. Benefit Stay Don't Stray Stay Put Primer
5. Mac Gloss Crème Brillance
6. Mac Eyeshadow in Brown Down
7. Mac Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Engraved

What do you think about this glossy eyelid look? Have you tried it before? Do you love this look? Or rather stay with matte eyelids?

Wants:

wishlist

Hello lovelies! I've made a list of some products i've been wanting to try and have heard good things too!

FRAGRANCE: Chanel Gardénia - Chanel describes this perfume as a Sweet and voluptuous, an intense fragrance of absolute femininity. It has a vanilla base, creamy gardenia petals and accented coconut. I can't wait to get my hands on this perfume!

HAIR: Morrocan Oil - This is a nourishing and residue free formula that is used for conditioning, styling and as a finishing tool. How great!
Bumble & Bumble Leave In (Rinse Out) Conditioner - Sephora describes this products as a lightweight detangler with moisture and frizz control. A summer must have!
NAILS: Even though i think Deborah Lippmann's nail polishes are a bit overpriced, i just loved this colour! It's called Across the Universe and it's a blazing blue and metallic green glam in sheerest navy (glitter), and i love glittery nail polish!
FACE: Benefit launched a while ago this Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation and since i'm a big fan of Benefit i think i'm going to love it. I already own the Hello Flawless Custom Powder and it's great!
Next is the Girl Meets Pearl that i have tried before & i just need to repurchase!
And of course, a new Nars blush won't do any harm. The colour it's called Luster. Maddi, a reader from San Francisco, mentioned it in a previous post so i will give it a try!

SKIN: I have heard wonders of Bioderma's Crealine H2O in a lot of reviews. This product is soap free make up remover and cleansing solution and it's soothing and emolliant. Sounds great right?

So those are the items on my shopping list! Hopefully i'll collect them all!
Have you tried any of this products before? Do you recommend any of these products?

Review: China Glaze Peachy Keen

peachykeen3

Hello lovelies! I purchased this nail polish a while ago, but hadn't really used it because i thought it wouldn't flatter my skin tone and that it was a little bit neon, but boy, was i wrong! Peachy Keen is a pastel peachy orange, it applies evenly and it only needs 2-3 coats. It's a very pigmented formula and it isn't watery at allI like pastel colours because they can basically be combined with anything! Plus, they're perfect for summer! This is not your regular orange or peach colour, it has something special & different!

Here is a comparison of bright orange (on my iphone case) and peachy keen.

What do you girls think about this peachy colour? Love pastels? Any recommendation?

Review: Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter

revlon1

Hello lovelies! After reading a few great reviews on Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter's i decided to give them a try and i was left quite impressed! I went crazy and got six of them.
I was very impressed by the buttery texture, the sweet fragrance and of course, the packaging. It's adorable!

095 Créme Brulee: Is a very sheer color with brown undertones and peach shimmer. It's very casual and wearable, this is one of my faves.
005 Sugar Frosting: Is a baby pink with a frosty finish, as it names suggests. Though it's fairly sheer, i'd say it matches light and darker skin tones mainly because it's a buttery balm.
025 Peach Parfait: Ahh this colour is just amazing! It has pink & peach undertones with shiny golden sparkles, this colour is deeper than 095, 060 & 005.
050 Berry Smoothie: As its name suggests, it has a very berry colour but it reminds me a bit to pomegranate. Even though it's darker than the average pink, it's still very wearable.
010 Raspberry Pie: This is a medium raspberry pink and it has a bold finish & a great pigmentation, it can be build up to a darker colour if desired.
060 Gumdrop: I fell in love with this colour, it's a very sheer lilac and it has an opaque finish. Lovely!

Revlon's Lip Butters turned out great, i might try more shades in a near future. I was very appealed by these since i hate sticky lipsticks and lipglosses. These glide onto lips easily and provides a shiny colour, which i like. Plus, the formula is moisturizing and soft! Here are some swatches:

Have you tried these before? What is your favourite shade?

Favourites: June 12

faves

Here are my makeup faves for June:

1. Chanel Les 4 Ombres in 32 Lillium: This eyeshadow quad has a soft peach with a frosty finish, a yellow green with medium frost finish, a smoky black and green with a metallic finish and a taupe with a shimmery bronze finish. The colours are very versatile and well pigmented, this quad is great for a natural daily look but it can also be build up for a more dramatic evening look.
2. Benefit's Benetint: I absolutley love this rose tint lip & cheek stain. The smell is just delightful and can be used both in cheeks and lips for a fresh natural look. Fairly easy to apply and can be built up to layers for an intense colour.
3. Nars Blush in Orgasm: I honestly think every girl on earth should own this blush, or at least give it a try. Orgasm is named "Top 25 Beauty Hall of Fame” 2010 Elle; "Best Blush for Light Skin” 2010 & 2011 & 2012 InStyle "Best Beauty Buys”; "Best Blush for Fair Skin” 2011 InStyle"Best Beauty Buys”. It is very blendable, it has peachy pink hues with a golden finish that makes my cheeks irresistable. It provides a very healthy glow, i just love it!
4.Guerlain Ombre Eclat L'instant Charnel: This single eyeshadow is extra light with a golden finish and it provides a very smooth application, i love it because it gives my eyelids a luminous & even colour. I like to use it as a base for a cat eye, it combines perfectly.
5. Rosebud Salve: This product is the very best i could find, not only for my chapped lips, but for my dry hands, elbows and knees. I love multipurpose products, also check Lush Lemony Flutter.
6.Givenchy Phenomen' Eyes Effet Extension Black: Since it came out, i believe in high definition eyelashes. The spherical brush is just too cool. The formula coats each lash and dries rapidly.
7.Benefit's Speed Brow: This is a quick set brow gel, i have tried the Mac Brow Set before but i like this one better. I have very light coloured eyebrows and this gel completes them. The smell is not as strong as Brow Set and the formula is thicker. I love it!

What are your June's faves? Any new products i should try? What do you think of this products?

How To: Clean your Brushes

brush care

Hey lovelies! Today i wanted to share with you how i clean my makeup brushes. I think that makeup is only as good as tools are and it's extremely important to take proper care of them so they last several years and stay as good as new.

I do a cleaning routine that includes 4 simple steps:
STEP 1: Take a cotton pad and put a drop of brush cleanser. I use Mac Brush Cleanser which disinfects and conditions the brush at the same time. Swirl the bristles until you see the colour coming out of the brush.
STEP 2: Add a little water to the brush and swirl it in the back of your hand until the bristles are covered in soap.
STEP 3: I like to complete the cleaning with a little shampoo. I use very mild shampoo (baby shampoo), repeat step 2 and rinse thoroughly until all the shampoo residue is gone.
STEP 4: Reshape the brush and let it dry in a clean towel with the bristles hanging off the edge.
I clean my personal brushes every 2 weeks, but if i do makeup on someone else i clean it after it's use. For quick cleaning in between washings i use the Sephora Daily Brush Cleaner .

Which products do you use for cleaning your makeup brushes and how often do you clean them?

Review: Sweet & Floral Perfumes

perfumes

I have always been a big fan of fragances. It all started when my older sister gave me a Ralph Lauren Polo Sport as a present for my 13th birthday (i think).I've never really had a favourite, YET! But one thing i do know, and that is that i absolutely adore sweet perfumes, candy, floral, everything sweet!

Here, i list 3 of my favourites that i've been using for quite a while now:
1. Parisienne by YSL is just lovely, it has a touch of femininity and sensuality and it's wearable by day and night. It's built with notes of blackberry, damask rose and sandalwood that makes a great combination. Since it came out, i knew i wanted it. Im a die hard fan of Paris and everything french (from food, to fashion, to history, i can never get enough! i even had 2 straight years of french lessons!)and even though i hadn't smelled it yet by that time, i knew i would love it. And i do!
2. Forbidden Flower by Lolita Lempicka comes in the cutest bottle made like a green absinth and it's engraved with ivy leaves and decorated with flowers, pure natural white adornments sprinkled with gold. And of course the fragance it's based on absinth flower combined with peony, strawberry leaf, violet and mimosa stem which makes it very sensual yet very innocent. It has a warm fuity softness with vibrant musks of almond and a morello cherry with accents of red fruit that makes it irresistible! I like to wear it by day, but i think the fragance is very flexible and versatile.
3. The One by Dolce & Gabbana is an absolute classique! if you ask me. It has been created for the ultimate diva and its a warm, oriental floral combined with lychee and peach that turns out to be delightful. It also has a hint of plum, vanilla and a sweetened ambery-musk notes. I love this fragance, it is unique and very feminine. I'd say Rose The One is probably a little bit more fruity and floral but still The One fits in this category.

All these 3 fragances are very feminine and sweet, but they still have a sensual and glamorous touch that make me feel confident. How about you? What type of fragance do you prefer?

Limited Edition, love it or leave it?

limiteded

I think i'm in love with limited edition makeup. I love the originality of the packaging, the design, the new experimental formulas, the new colours, everything! MAC cosmetics for example, comes with a lot (A LOT! ) of limited edition products (like the ones pictured here from Surf Baby's last year summer's collection, Tartan Tale Collection, Quite Cute Colletion, etc) And so does other makeup brands. I particularly think it's great, it makes makeup exciting and fun.

So limited edition has it's pro's and it's con's. What do you think? Rather stay with the same collection or try new ones?
